The Shandong Provincial Meteorological Observatory upgraded the yellow warning signal for heavy fog to red warning signal at 06: 00 on December 22.

At present, some areas of Liaocheng, Dezhou, Heze, Jining and Zibo have seen extremely strong fog with visibility less than 50 meters.  Dense fog with visibility less than 500m has appeared in some areas of Binzhou, Jinan, Zaozhuang and Linyi, with local visibility less than 200m.  It is expected that the fog will continue in the above areas this morning.

Traffic control measures were taken by traffic police in Hebei province due to heavy fog (G3 Beijing-Taiwan expressway Lu-Ji station exit closed), and traffic at G3 Beijing-Taiwan expressway Lu-Ji station exit towards Beijing was slow.  The slow-moving distance is 1.5km, and the road recovery time is expected to be 3 hours.  Road traffic controllers are actively coordinating traffic police inside and outside the province, and will open as soon as traffic conditions permit.  It is suggested that vehicles traveling in the direction of Beijing should leave Dezhou and Dezhou South Railway Station ahead of schedule and bypass G104 National Highway.
